Indoor Fitness Room

Paintsville Recreation Center, located at 232 Preston Street, is a multi-purpose facility offering many diverse recreational and educational activities.

Computer Lab

The computer lab is open to the public and is free of charge. Complimentary Wi-fi is available throughout the Recreation Center.

Classes

Some of the classes that are offered at various times throughout the year are Zumba, karate, gentle chair yoga, and gymnastics. If you are interested in teaching a class or taking a class, please contact the Recreation Director at 606-789-2612.

Rental Space

The Recreation Center has three rooms of varying sizes available to the public for events, reunions, weddings, meetings, receptions, showers, birthday parties, celebrations, and camps. If you are interested in renting one of the spaces, please contact the Recreation Director at 606-789-2612.

Events

Bluegrass – Hometown Jamboree is a very popular event every Friday night from 7pm – 10pm at the Recreation Center where folks dance to bluegrass music. There is a charge for this event and concessions are available.


Bluegrass Championship Wresting draws a large crowd every third Saturday of each month. There is a charge for this event and concessions are available. Please call the Recreation Center at 606-789-2612 to confirm events dates and times.

Walking Track

An outdoor walking track is available to anyone for exercise. It is open from daylight until dusk each day.

Paintsville Dog Park

A dog park is located adjacent to the Recreation Center and is a fenced area for dogs to exercise. The area is open from daylight to dusk. Please abide by posted rules.

Batting Cages

Batting cages are located in front of the Recreation Center and are open to Paintsville League participants only during their season but open to the public at all other times. There is no charge for the use of the batting cages.

Community Garden

Raised garden beds are available for use by the community. If you are interested in participating in the Community Garden Program, please contact Recreation Director at 606-789-2612. The City of Paintsville has received grant funds to add additional beds this Spring to allow for more participation in the program. Also, a handicapped accessible bed will be constructed in Spring of 2020.

Ken Fuller Tennis Courts

Tennis Courts are located in the vicinity of Lincoln Avenue, near the Paintsville City Pool. The courts were renovated in 2017 and are shared by two local school tennis teams, but open to the public, as well. The courts are open from daylight to dusk and are have an automated lighting system. Rules are posted at the courts for all to follow. If you are interested in hosting a tennis tournament or a camp at the tennis courts, please contact the Recreation Director at 606-789-2612.
